The Level Crossing Authority has announced a revised works schedule which will affect parking and road restrictions during the season of Crossing Delancey.

In addition to loss of railway car parks off Turnham Avenue and Beetham Parade and loss of the car park in front of the old Council office in Turnham Avenue, the following changes are proposed.

  • Night works are scheduled from Friday 23 February through to March, resulting in considerable activity in Turnham Avenue directly outside the Theatre.
  • From Thursday 1 March Turnham Avenue will be temporarily restricted to one way traffic with one lane from Lower Plenty Road to Station Road.

Accordingly, we recommended you use the car park at the rear of the Library off Douglas Street. Douglas Street can be accessed via either [a] Lower Plenty Rd and Turnham Avenue, or [b] Station Road and Grove Road.
While there is signage noting some bays are restricted parking for the Level Crossing Authority, these bays are available to Theatre patrons when attending a performance.

In the event that the Library rear car park is fully occupied, we recommend parking on the west side of the railway line in Ellesmere Parade (see map below). Additional parking bays have been established along Ellesmere Parade and from there it's only a short walk to the theatre.
The temporary car parking bays established on Ellesmere Parade are accessible by entering from Bellevue Avenue and Invermay Grove.

We appreciate everybodyís patience and request that, when coming to a performance, you allow extra travel time to find a parking space and to then take the short walk to the Theatre. If you could please plan to arrive at the Theatre no later than 7.45 pm for an evening performance or by 1.45 pm for a matinee performance, and of course there will be a complementary glass of sherry ready for you on your arrival.
