HTC Code of Conduct
Heidelberg Theatre Company is committed to creating a happy and harmonious environment for all those involved in the Company’s activities. Underlying this commitment is the need to ensure that everyone involved behaves with dignity, honesty, integrity and respect towards others. AimThis Code seeks to support a safe, enjoyable and equitable environment for all, whatever their role in the Company. ExpectationsPerformers, production staff and other volunteers are expected to: • treat everyone with dignity and courtesy; • be fair, considerate and honest in all dealings with others; • refrain from any behaviour which may bring HTC into disrepute; • display control, respect and professionalism in all activities; • observe proper meeting conduct and protocols; • be courteous in dealings with other HTC people; • abide by the principles of theatre etiquette. HTC also expects that all directors, production staff and other volunteers will have passed a Department of Justice, Victoria, “Working with Children Check.” Discrimination, Sexual Harassment and BullyingMembers, performers, production staff and Volunteers are expected to respect the rights, dignity and worth of others regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, ability, cultural background or religion or of their physical or psychological disabilities. Discrimination, harassment or bullying have no place in a happy and safe environment and will only undermine the desired outcome of any project. If anyone feels they have been discriminated against, bullied or harassed in any way they should immediately contact the Production Coordinator or a member of the Committee. Health and SafetyEveryone has the right to participate in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe. Members, performers, production staff and other volunteers are asked to take responsibility for their own health and safety and to ensure that their actions do not risk the health and safety of others. All hazards, accidents or injuries must be reported. Incident report forms should be completed and forwarded to the Secretary. GrievancesIf anyone has a grievance or feels that they have been unfairly treated they are encouraged to raise this issue with any member of the HTC Committee, who will advise about further follow-up/action as appropriate.
