DON'S PARTY
written by David Williamson
directed by Peter Newling
10 SEP - 27 SEP 2008
Sunday Matinee 21 SEP at 3pm
About the play
Written in 1971, Don's Party is a warts-and-all snapshot of Australian life in 1969.
It deals with a bunch of young professionals, who gather one night
hoping for a Labor victory in the '69 election. Described as "a boozy, brawly romp",
Don's Party captures the hopes and disappointments of people moving from
the idealism of university life to the humdrum routines and responsibilities of suburbia.
Widely regarded as Williamson's best, its bitingly funny, desperately bleak,
and brutally accurate. This play contains adult themes and coarse language.
