About the play

Posing as musicians, Professor Marcus and his troupe of criminal misfits rent rooms in the lopsided house of sweet strict Mrs Wilberforce. The gang are plotting a brilliant heist, and the cops are clueless. But Mrs Wilberforce gets wise to their ruse. Then, with only her pet parrot to help, she's alone with five desperate men. Who will face the music?

This classic comedy is based on the wildly popular 1955 Ealing film of the same name. Adapted for the stage in 2011 by Graham Linehan, it was an instant hit.
